ISO METRIC

WHAT IS ISOMETRIC ?

The Isometric Registry is a carbon removal standard and public registry that exclusively lists verified carbon removal credits, each representing one tonne of CO2 durably removed from the atmosphere according to the Isometric Standard. It is founded to ensure a responsible and rapid transition to carbon removal, the registry emphasizes scientific rigor, transparency, and trust in the voluntary carbon market.

Isometric has been endorsed by the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM) as meeting its Core Carbon Principles, confirming its governance, transparency, and rigorous independent validation standards are among the highest in the industry. The registry also supports innovative carbon removal methods like Enhanced Rock Weathering with scientifically rigorous MRV protocols, further raising quality standards.

WHY ISOMETRIC ?

  • Credits undergo verification according to the Isometric Standard, which mandates that removals be permanent, additional, and measured using cutting-edge scientific techniques that incorporate uncertainty analysis. The Standard specifically excludes credits based on avoidance or short-term storage, concentrating exclusively on long-lasting carbon removals.
  • Isometric receives payment from buyers rather than suppliers and applies a fixed verification fee, which eliminates any motivation to issue excessive credits and guarantees unbiased assessments.
  • The registry focuses on Long- Term Carbon Removal. Unlike many other registries, Isometric exclusively certifies credits for long-lasting carbon removal. It excludes avoidance or temporary storage projects, ensuring that every credit corresponds to carbon that is permanently removed from the atmosphere.
  • Isometric is paid solely by buyers and charges a flat fee for verification services. This model removes any conflict of interest or incentives to over-credit projects, ensuring impartiality and integrity in the issuance of carbon removal credits.
  • Isometric actively develops rigorous protocols for emerging and complex carbon removal methods, such as Ocean Alkalinity Enhancement, helping to expand and standardize the market for new technologies.
