WHY ICR?

• Transparency and Rigorous Standards– ICR enforces strict transparency and adherence to robust standards in the carbon credit market, ensuring that every project and credit is credible and trustworthy and registry provides a clear, auditable record of project registration, credit issuance, transfer, and retirement, minimizing risks like double counting and double issuance.
• Credibility and Environmental Integrity– ICR is committed to maintaining environmental integrity by ensuring that all registered projects undergo rigorous validation and verification, and that credits only represent real, additional, and verified greenhouse gas reductions or removals.
• By providing a standardized and transparent platform, ICR supports the implementation of carbon trading and offsetting mechanisms, making it easier for organizations to participate in the voluntary carbon market.
• ICR incentivizes investments in sustainable projects such as renewable energy, reforestation, and energy efficiency, directly contributing to global efforts to mitigate climate change.

ICR is built around the ISO 14064 series of standards, ensuring global best practices for greenhouse gas accounting, verification, and project eligibility.

The registry’s procedures and requirements are designed to be compatible with Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, supporting international climate cooperation and the creation of high-integrity credits.
