Job Description:
The ZED Assessor (Silver & Gold) will be responsible for conducting assessments under the MSME Sustainable (ZED) Certification Scheme as per guidelines issued by QCI. The role involves on-site and remote evaluations, documentation review, audit reporting, and ensuring strict adherence to ZED assessment protocols.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct ZED Silver & Gold level assessments as per QCI-approved criteria.
- Perform on-site audits, verification of evidence, and compliance checks.
- Review MSME documents including Udyam certificate, statutory records, quality systems, and process controls.
- Conduct interviews with process owners and validate sustainability, quality, and operational maturity parameters.
- Prepare detailed audit reports and submit findings on the ZED portal.
- Ensure impartiality and adherence to QCI guidelines during assessments.
- Maintain confidentiality of MSME data and records.
- Provide recommendations for improvement based on audit observations.
- Coordinate with Certification Bodies (CBs) and QCI for assessment scheduling and clarifications.
- Ensure audit closing and timely submission of reports as per scheme timelines.
Required Competencies
- Certified ZED Assessor for Silver & Gold Levels (valid QCI/TAB approval).
- Strong knowledge of MSME operations, quality management, environmental practices, and sustainability.
- Ability to interpret ZED parameters, scoring methodology, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and reporting skills.
- Strong ethical conduct, independent judgement, and analytical ability.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Timely completion of assigned audits within scheduled timelines.
- Accuracy and quality of submitted assessment reports.
- Zero non-conformity in QCI technical scrutiny.
- Adherence to audit protocols and documentation standards.
- MSME feedback & satisfaction score (if applicable).
- Compliance with travel, safety, and data security guidelines.
Eligibility Criteria
- Graduate in Engineering/Science or relevant discipline (preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in audit, consulting, or quality/sustainability roles.
- QCI-approved ZED Assessor Certification (Silver & Gold mandatory).
- Experience working with MSMEs or Certification Bodies is an added advantage.
Work Mode
- Freelance/Contractual – As per assignment allocation by Certification Body.
- Travel required for onsite audits as per MSME location.
- Reporting through ZED portal and CB mechanisms.
